WEBINARS
We are offering Webinars! (On-line seminars)
Rios Associates has been the leader in teaching Medical Spanish for the past 15 years, offering CME courses in several locations in both the United States and Mexico. . We have also successfully brought our courses to hospitals and clinics throughout the United States Now you can participate in the same course on line. The reason for our success is due to the extremely well organized, logical and concisely presented program developed by Dr. Joanna Rios. Our materials are specifically and exclusively designed for medical professionals allowing them to acquire the necessary skills for learning Spanish and about cultural competency/cultural sensitivity in a medical setting.
Our intensive 4 and 8-day seminars have met and surpassed our goals and we have successfully trained over four thousand medical professionals since 1996. Due to the ever increasing cost of travel and lodging, as well as time constraints and budget reductions affecting CME monies available, Rios Associates has elected to develop the same program as our Intensive CME Seminars in the form of “Webinars”.
In our Webinars, you will use the same materials as in our Intensive live seminars, and will receive instructions, explanations and guidance with LIVE instructors over the Internet. You will also participate in role plays, exercises and Q&A sessions during the LIVE meetings. For more details, please contact José Fernández at jferncons@gmail.com
You can also visit our Website for Live 4 and 8 day seminars and to purchase our materials by following this link: http://www.medspanish.org
How does it work?
We make an Internet connection between our instructor and our student at a predetermined time using Skype. The Webinar meetings will be a one-on-one thus, allowing for much flexibility. Using Skype we are able to share audio and video as well as tools such as whiteboards, presentations and pictures and it is free.
These Webinars can be used to:
- review specific subjects if you have taken one of our classes.
- take the same course we present on-site while you travel or when other limitations may prevent you from doing so in person.
- follow up and practice sessions for those that would like to continue learning Spanish.
What will you need?
- A computer - Laptop or desktop.
- A High speed Internet connection
- Before the first time you need to download a free program from Skype and set up an account (also free).
- A computer video camera is preferred but not necessary.
- A microphone and speakers – or – an Internet headset.
- Access to a quiet location.
The objectives of the Webinars are the same as those in our live seminars.
Book(s) are required and can be purchased from us (see our website www.medspanish.org), Corresponding CDs are recommended but not required. If you have taken one of our seminars, you may already have the necessary material.
You can purchase blocks of 10 hours for $225
20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits can be issued per each block of 10 hours at an additional cost of $50. Upon successfully completing the corresponding tests, the participant will receive an AMA CME certificate.
